Altruistic August Day 5 Mum called on Friday evening to say my step-dad had been taken into hospital. They think it's an infection. As some of you know he's 91 and had his left leg amputated below the knee in January. They've worker really hard and Mum has recently swapped her car for one which can carry him in his electric wheelchair and they've begun to enjoy trips out twice a week. No time is a good time for this to happen but this seems particularly unfair. They've been in my thoughts every minute since she called and I'm hoping with everything I have he is soon well enough to be home and they can return to a hard won routine.
