Tuesday 25th July: Me and E had a chill day at home today. We laid in bed and watched Numberblocks for a bit first thing. E was in the mood for puzzles and board games today. He really impressed me with a Numberblocks puzzle he did 1-20. We've been saying for a while that we need to get our oven professionally cleaned, so J got a quote and then arranged an appointment. They're going to do the oven and the extractor fan in 2 weeks time. I can't wait. The last time I did it, it really made me poorly with my asthma for a couple of days after. I had time to write a few bits in my work diary and read up on a few bits we will be teaching in Year 5 next year. Totally out of my comfort zone but looking forward to it. For example, Ancient Egyptians, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in Year 5 History lessons, compared to learning about the Great Fire of London, Guy Fawkes and Queen Elizabeth 1 in Year 1 History. Oh, and also throwing in a modern foreign language, we'll be teaching Spanish. I have a lot to prepare and practise. I ordered a cake for E's 4th birthday in September. I sent a couple of ideas through, but the main jist was something with rainbows and Paw Patrol. 🐾 🌈 The icing a bit like the pic but with Paw Patrol toppers. I think he'll love it. J surprised us and arrived home from work an hour early, which was nice, as E got a bit of extra time playing with him whilst I cooked tea. J and I watched 2 more episodes of Designated Survivor, and then when he'd gone to bed, I watched the first 2 episodes of the new series of Sweet Magnolias.
