Wednesday 19th/Thursday 20th July: Had my work meeting on Wednesday am. I was so anxious and overwhelmed. I can't go into the details, and I'm not sure if it was because they wanted me back, or whether they legally had no choice, I honestly don't know, but I have my job! I found out Thursday afternoon whilst working at the charity shop. I am so relieved and emotionally exhausted. I can't wait to get back to supporting the children; I have missed them so much. I am going to be working in Year 5. I've not worked in Key Stage 2 for 10 years. I'll miss the younger ones but looking forward to it. Need to scrub up on my fractions over the summer break. 🙈 I accidentally knocked my phone in the bath. The only thing that seems to be playing up is my headphones now don't work when I connect them to it. I made sweet and sour pork meatballs for tea on Wednesday night which were very nice. On Thursday I had my 2nd day working at the charity shop. We had the music on and it was really satisfying getting all the clothes ready to go out on the shop floor. We got lots done. The other lady who is in on a Thursday surprised me with an apron. I mentioned I thought it was nice as we were sorting through bits, and she said she knew I was feeling stressed as I was waiting to hear about my job, so she bought it for me. I thought it was so sweet that she had bought it for me bless her. It certainly made me smile. Our parasol broke a couple of weeks back and there was a big, florally one for sale at the charity shop today for £8. I was debating whether to get it. If it's still there next Thursday, I might take it as a sign. 🤔 I missed the World Cup opening game but caught up on some highlights online. Had tea on the field with neighbours. Pic 1 - sweet and sour meatballs Pic 2 - pheasant apron ❤️ Pic 3 - gadget I use at the charity shop to attach the labels to the clothes Pic 4 - It's bloody hard, but I am learning to advocate for myself more.
