Joyful June Day 28: I was still feeling a tad low today but visiting dad soon set me right. He always tells me the funniest stories. Today, he told me how, growing up, they had lots of different animals in the house. One day, when my mum was with him, his mum told him to open the window and let Fred Stamp in. Mum fully expected a man to come climbing in through the window so was a little surprised that a cat wandered in. 🤣 They also had a tortoise called Johnny One Eye, a dog called Laddie Ingham… 🤷🏻‍♀️…etc. 😆 They had chickens, mice, rabbits, all-sorts. He always speaks so fondly of his childhood…as I do mine. ☺️ This bizarre photo of him was taken when Lee was testing his new camera and dad moved just as he was taking a shot. I did my first yoga practice in a while today. I used to do it pretty much every day but, since mum died, I have really struggled to maintain a good routine. I get into a routine, then fall out of it…in, out…in, out…it’s like the Hokey Cokey of the yoga world. I also finished listening to the second Moomin book. I read the first one, whilst flying to Helsinki, but cannot find copies of the others on the library website. I struggle to listen to audiobooks but felt I did quite well with the one. Hugh Dennis narrates them and does a vast array of voices/accents. I have just borrowed book 3.
